Finished Breaking Dawn

OK...I finally finished reading Breaking Dawn. I can see why she used this title for the book. I don't, however, understand why it took her some 700+ pages to finally "break dawn". I loved the book and disliked it at the same time. At first I was thrown by the chapters where Jacob does the telling. However, after a few chapters into this area of the book, I found that I enjoyed hearing from his perspective. Wow... we sure didn't know Jacob this well before? I was disturbed by the honeymoon area of the book and the discovery that Bella became pregnant rather quickly. I know that we had to travel down the disturbing road of thinking that the baby would be a monster, but it was difficult to get through. I thought that the transition from human to vampire for Bella was very well written. Bella speaking while in the throws of the change was fascinating. I would have liked to hear more from Edward at this point in the story. He seemed to be such a "WRECK" and totally unable to cope. I realize that Bella is his whole world, but I think we should have heard more from him and more about his anguish. I agree that the Renessme name is kinda lame. However, when you say it out loud quite a few times it kinda grows on you.
Now...to the part of the story that I really was disappointed in. The Volturi !
What the heck is with that? Do we really believe that the child brought from South America (half human/half vampire) was their only reason for heading back to Italy with their tails between their legs? I felt there were too many pages devoted to the build up of a fight and a subsequent loss of our favorite characters. Not that I wanted anyone to be destroyed...but couldn't we have had a little more reason for the Volturi to back down. I really thought that when the earth moved and the wind was raised that something dramatic, like the earth swallowing the Volturi, would happen, but she just passed over that quickly. I frankly don't know how I expected the story to end. But, sadly, I was disappointed.
Does anyone else feel that she left a little window open for a 5th book?

I'm really looking forward to the movie coming out on Nov. 21. Can't wait to read your reviews and share my own.
